Grade Two Math "Home Connection" Activity

Posted: May 20, 2011

The Grade Two students began the "Geometry" unit in Math this week. The students will learn to sort, compare, and describe 2-D (two-dimensional) shapes (e.g., triangles, squares, rectangles, circles), and 3-D (three-dimensional) objects (e.g., cubes, spheres, cones, cylinders, pyramids).   Activity: With your child, look for examples in your home of some of the shapes he or she has learned about, such as circles, triangles, rectangles, and squares. Which do you find most often? Have fun!
