Daily Update:
I was out sick yesterday, and a few students headed home today feeling under the weather. With the damp conditions, it’s a good idea to dress warmly, stay dry, and maybe keep a change of clothes at school just in case. Miss Brown was also away, so I helped out in the office while Miss Grace Sobey took over in the classroom. Students began the day with our regular routine and spelling words focusing on the “ew / ui / ue” vowel sounds: chews, bruise, blue, and grapefruit. Our "Show, Not Tell" prompt was: “The cat was mean,” which led to some pretty expressive writing! We completed our Heggerty listening games and tackled a reading maze involving a certain Judo match between Kal and me… Let's just say we won’t go into too much detail about how that turned out. We continued practicing our vowel teams and followed it up with free-choice writing. After Read to Self, we grabbed a snack and headed out to enjoy the playground.
School-Wide Assembly:
We gathered in the gym for our March Monthly Assembly and watched the March Recap Video. It’s amazing how much we packed into just three weeks! We also handed out monthly awards and wrapped things up with some fun school-wide games.
After Lunch – Art:
In the afternoon, students worked with colorful clay to sculpt animals. There were some very creative creatures roaming our classroom by the end of the session!
PE:
We played a high-energy game of baseball, combining strategy, teamwork, and lots of running!
End of Day Routine:
We came in from gym and did some french videos. We did our end of day books and got some free choice. Did you use a tablet or go back and perfect your clay creature?
Picture of the Day:
Kal and I had a judo match at recess. I tried to be a good sport… but I really don’t like losing!
