Daily Update:
We began the day by reviewing yesterday’s work—it's great to see everyone improving! Today’s spelling word was transportation, and our "Show, Not Tell" sentence was: "She was distracting to the students!" After wrapping up our Heggerty drill, we doodled a sparrow and focused on today’s exercise: the swimmer. We did three rotations—Read to Self, Work on Writing, and working with the teacher. The transitions are becoming more seamless. Excellent progress all around!
Math:
The Grade 3 students started learning about counting coins today. Meanwhile, the Grade 1s and 2s watched a fun video on using 10 frames. We revisited the “counting on” strategy for friends of 10 and practiced skip counting forwards and backwards before heading to an early lunch.
After Lunch:
We hopped on the bus and headed out to Fletcher’s Farm! The corn maze, goat feeding, pedal cars, hay tower, corn seed play, sunflower picking, wagon rides, and tire swings made for an amazing day. Huge thanks to the awesome staff at Fletcher’s Farm for hosting us! We hope to visit again next year!
Day End:
We returned just in time to fill out our Home to School books and board the bus home. Don’t forget:
- Thurs: Terry Fox Run at 1:30
- Fri: Orange Shirt Day
Picture of the Day:
When we gathered for our class picture, we suddenly realized—someone was still lost in the maze! What a puzzling CASE?
