Home Learning June 1st!

Posted: June 1, 2020

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a great weekend. We are beginning to wind down in terms of Home Learning. This week will follow the same format that it has been since we’ve begun. Next week will look a little different. I want to remind you all once again to “Do what you can, When you can!” Thank you so much for all you’ve been doing during this season of Home Learning. Please reach out if there is anything I can do to help in any way. My email address is jodi.sobey@nbed.nb.ca.

Dear Grade One,

Today is the beginning of a new week and also a new month. It is the very first day of June.

I hope you all had a super fun weekend with your families.

Oh how I wish I was able to hear all about it this morning during sharing time.

I am headed back to school today to wrap things up and to work on getting ready for September.

It is going to be lonely without all of you and your friends.

I am missing you all so, so much. I can hardly wait until you can come back to school with me.

Have a great day everyone!

Love, Mrs. Sobey

Your goal for this week is to complete 5 lessons. If you complete at least 1each day you will reach the goal at the end of the week. Remember if you begin a game, please finish it!

Problem of the Week:

There were 11 ladybugs in the garden. Then 4 of them fly away. How many ladybugs are left? Do you add or subtract to find the answer?

I would encourage students to draw a picture to help them solve. I will post my work showing the solution next Monday morning. I would love to see the student’s work as well. That can be emailed to me at jodi.sobey@nbed.nb.ca.

*For Art on Friday, students will need 1or 2 paper plates and other items such as tissue paper, markers, crayons, yarn, bells, googly eyes, pompoms, and any other decorative craft items they can gather up.

In addition to the activities suggested above students are encourage to read independently, participate in some physical activity and complete the task from the “Social-Emotional Learning” calendar.
