On nice weather days our students may be snowshoeing. Mrs. MacDonalds class and Mrs. Carrolls  class will try to get out on Tuesdays and Thursdays during Phys Ed.

Make up a big batch of whole grain muffins, pancakes or waffles and freeze them. Toast or warm them up in the morning before school. Serve realistic portions. Children's stomachs are smaller than ours. If there is too much food offered at breakfast it will be difficult for them to finish. Serve smaller nutritous meals and snacks throughout the day.

The Healthy Learners in School Program with support from MANGO is promoting a Healthy Breakfasts for Healthy Learners project during the month of November. Each week during the month there will be new information available to parents and guardians. The former District 16 has generously supported our local Food Banks for the past several years. Each food item donated validates a ballot for a chance for our school to win a new multimedia computer. Suggestions for donations to the Food Bank for Christmas 2012 include: Nov. 5- 9 Kraft Dinner; Nov. 12- 16 Peanut Butter, Jam, Cheese Whiz; Nov. 19- 23 Cereal; Nov 26- 30 Soup and Crackers; Dec. 3- 7 Canned Milk, Vegetables, Beans, Spaghetti; Dec. 10- 14 Dry Pasta and Pasta Sauce; Dec. 17- 20 Canned Meats and Fish. Thank you in advance for supporting this important project.

Join us in the school gym for our annual Halloween event. There will be lots of interesting pumpkin creations and student entertainment. We hope to see you on October 31st at 10:30 am in the school gym.
