Monday November 8th Home Learning Assignment

Dear Parents, Between 12:00 O'Clock and 4 O'Clock today, you will be able to pick up your child's new Home Learning package at our school. From the first learnlng Package, please return all leveled books and the completed reading comprehension sheets. The Nelson books and writing scribblers are to be kept home, and anyone with a Nelson text will have another textbook sent home for backup.

Here is today's assignment girls and boys - Read 15 to 20 minutes. You can reread a book if you wish.

Writing 15 o 20 minutes - write a fictional story and be sure to use your imagination. Please focus on descriptive detail. You can continue this story tomorrow.

Choose one item from the choice board to do.

30 minutes of physical activity outside.

Friday November 5th Home Learning Assignment

Good morning girls and boys! I hope everyone is feeling well. Here is your assignment for today.

Read 15 to 20 from the Home Learning package. If you do not have something new to read, you can reread a text for fluency.

Choose one item to do from the story board activities in the file section down below.

Journal writing for 15 to 20 minutes. Possible writing topics are: My week of Home Learning, the fun things I did at home this week, something I love to do, something I hate to do, a fictional story, or a topic of your choice.

30 minutes of outdoor activity. Possible choices are; Having a catch, going for a walk, playing, skipping, or your idea.

Thursday November 4th Home Learning Assignment

Happy Thursday Boys and Girls! If you haven't heard, we are getting a hamster for our classroom. We'll put everyone's choice of name in a hat, and the one drawn when we get back to school will be the name of our hamster. Get you thinking caps on. The names of the last two classroom hampsters we had were Pippin and Snuggles.

Your lesson for the day: First, try to solve this riddle. What's black and white, and red all over?

Read 15 minutes

One Reading omprehension assignment - only spend 15 minutes on this and finish the rest tomorrow.

Journal writing 20 minutes - choose your own topic and the focus for the day is - different sentence beginnings.

30 minites of outdoor activity

Read 20 minutes from your learning package. (Those who do not have leveled books sent home can read stories from the Nelson text book)

Write a letter to your class. Talk about what you have been doing the past few days, how you're feel about missing school, what you like about it and what you don't like about it. Write whatever comes to your mind. We can share these when we return to class, but only if you wish to.

Do one reading comprehension exercise.

30 minutes of physical activity.

Write for 20 minutes. Possible topics to write about are; Fletcher's Farm, Skating, Covid, My Pet, My favorite place to eat, to play, to visit, My special friend. You can also choose your own topic.
