Welcome back to another school year. The students are settling in after the first week of school. I am already seeing gains in their oral communication. We will share some French in the coming weeks on this page.
HOMEWORK
We will have a consistent weekly routine for homework.
Grade 5 Math - There will be a homework sheet each week and students are also asked to study their multiplication facts each night.
Grade 4/5 Language Arts - The students will read in English each night (15-20 min) and have a written reading response each week. Some weeks they will complete a reading comprehension activity in the place of the reading response. As a staff we felt it was important to continue with some English writing during the Intensive French block.
French reading will begin soon

The Grade Five students and I would like to invite parents to come to the classroom on Thursday from 6pm to approximately 7pm. We wanted to share with parents the progress that students have made during the Intensive French Program. More information to follow.

On February 17th, the Grade Five class went to the MVHS pool to learn about canoeing. We had a great time and learned a lot about canoeing and the different paddle strokes. The students were taught about safety as well as how to properly use the paddle. Thank you to Mr. McKinnon and the life...
