My apologies for neglecting my teacher page!

 

Thank you to our wonderful Home and School for the great meals, treats and kind words, our staff felt truly appreciated and grateful!

 Words of the week… we learned love, like, look, me, my, mom, no, not, new, on, off, play –since our last peek!                                             Grade 1 -

 

Feb.22 Monday- Welcome back to classes! I hope that you had a great weekend.  Today is “Talk Rock Monday” –what did you do this weekend?

 

Feb. 23- Tuesday * Library and ART today, Please ensure that all library books are returned on Fridays.

 

Feb. 24 Wednesday- Skating, MusicPink T-shirt day

 

Feb. 25-Thursday  Guidance with Mrs. Craig

 

Feb. 26– Friday    PIZZA Day! Please have money in a labelled holder tks.

 

What we’re up to:

 

Language Arts- we’ve been learning and practicing sight words daily in reading and writing. Students are encouraged to use them in their written stories. Strokes and letters practice is necessary and will be reviewed. 

 

Math-we’ve finished our unit on Exploring numbers to 5 focusing on partners to 5. Identifying dots *like on number cubes, and 5 frames. Number lines. It is important that students develop good number sense!

 

More than, Less than, the same amount as, the most, the least…

 Hoping that you had a wonderful holiday and to say thank you for the thoughtful gifts at Christmas!      I hope you are enjoying your snow day! Remember to read a book and locate any sight words you know~Grade 1- read and review strategies for new words (Picture cues, letters in the word, chunk parts you may know, does it make sense? always go back and reread with the new word to connect the sentence to the story. Parents: Please send a new bag of extra clothing for your child if you have not already. They were sent home to make sure they have clothing that fit and are appropriate for the season. Zoo Phonics letters of the week are Kk and Ll we will meet Kayo Kangaroo and Lizzy lizardValue Lessons- Kind kids keep their promises.  Thursday - Guidance with Miss McKenzie - Lessons center around the 5 I-Care rules     Friday- Pizza Day! please ensure that money is packed securely and labelled with your child's name.  Have a wonderful, safe weekend!

peekA PEEK AT OUR WEEK! Dec. 14th-18th  Napan Idol! Friday Dec. 18th Students are invited and encouraged to perform individually or with a small group. Songs must be appropriate in language and content.  Open to K-5 students   Focus Letters - Letters Jj-  Words of the week… Kindergarten if, in, it.       Grade 1 - because Dec. 14 Monday- Welcome back to classes!     REMINDER!  today, Monday December 7th is our annual Christmas Dinner at the Napan Hall.  All staff and students will be attending.  Note: If your child will be eating his/her own lunch please let me know so it will not be left behind.  Thank you to the generosity and time given to allow us to enjoy this wonderful meal!

November 25th is our next skating day!Children are encouraged to try to skate for the duration. If they need a rest, or a drink, we ask thet they do so in the designated areas. The arena requests that it be water only and that it not be consumed on the ice but again in the rest area. Parents are invited to come join us!
