June 7, 2013 Dear Parents Over the past several weeks, our class has been participating in the “Fish Friends” program.  We received salmon eggs and have been observing and writing about the growth and changes from eggs to alevin to fry.  Tomorrow, Friday June 7, we will be taking the fish to release them to their natural habitat in Wayerton.  To make a day of it, we will be participating in “Storytime” at the library then we will picnic and play at Ritchie’s Wharf.   On our return to school, we will stop off at the Fire Station for a tour. We will be leaving the school soon after opening activities so it is important that children be on time.  Given the unpredictable weather recently, please have children dress accordingly. WE WILL be going…rain or shine.  Layering for cool mornings and increasing temperatures is best to ensure they are comfortable. (T-shirts and sweaters/ shorts under gym pants etc). Students will need a full bagged lunch since we will not be at school for pizza.  (include a drink and a bottle of water labeled with child’s name) I also ask that you apply fly repellent and sun block  before leaving for school.  We are all looking forward to a great day!
