Zoo News! Celebrating blends: students see how letters work together s partners
ABC BOOM! Letter/number formation using the strokes
*Math Outcome- Continued practice with Numbers to 10 (to 30 using calendar dates on a daily basis), various aspects of numeracy which reinforce concepts of more than/ less than using specific numbers and visual discrepancy, comparing quantities, that whole numbers can be divided into parts using objects and numbers.
New Unit- Shape and Space- Using direct or indirect measurement to solve problems:
SS1-comparing 2 objects based on a single attribute length, mass and volume with associated vocabulary
SS2-Sort 3D objects using a single attribute and explain the sorting rule (size or shape, corners, roll/slide etc.); learn geometric vocabulary
SS3- Build and describe 3D objects
-2D shapes and 3D objects
Monday May 12th –
Children will bring home their 3 books to read for this week. Reading the books more than once/week will improve their confidence and fluency.
Mad Science for those participating
Jump Rope for Heart- all money and envelopes are to be returned by this Thursday, please. ** We are asking that the envelopes be returned even if no funds were collected. Thank you.

Go for 42
Fish Friends: Our eggs have hatched and students are making keen observations and writing about them. They are now at the “alevin” stage living off their food sacks. Some are beginning to wiggle and a few are “fluttering” around the tank. Most are hidden within the rocks now. The kids are really excited to watch the process!
