Monday- visit the library, Tuesday- hot lunch Wednesday- classroom visitor Ricky Knowles     Thursday – buddy readers, poetry anthology goes home, library books due                      Friday- Pizza orders- mark your container with name and number of pieces please   VALUE LESSON- Yearn to Learn! Letters of the week - Xx  and  Yy   Math- number concepts part part whole - exploring numbers betweeen 5 and 10 and showing various combinations.  Counting on and back from "any given number", adding on and taking away.

   This week's letter is Vv!  Our value lesson for this week is:  Strive to be virtuous!       Monday April 11, 2011 Read and Record each evening Be a VARACIOUS reader!  There are a couple of notes to help your child with strategies for reading which correspond to our daily lessons   TUESDAY April 12 NO SCHOOL FOR NEW FRIENDS!  We are hosting our Teddy Bear Picnic tomorrow therefore there are no classes for the Kindergarten children Hot Lunch Day- the children will be credited their purchase   WEDNESDAY April 13, 2011   THURSDAY April 14, 2011 Poetry Anthology goes home, read and complete the activity (if any)   FRIDAY April 15, 2011 PIZZA DAY!  if you are ordering include your name and # of pieces, please       FISH FRIENDS NEWS!  we now have about 5 eggs that have hatched, they are now alevin...The water temperature remains at 4degrees C to mimic the river.  The kids are quite excited when they discover the alevin. They can wiggle a bit but generally lie still and feed off their food sac.   Stay tuned.

 VALUE LESSON FOR LETTER Uu- we are utterly unbelievable students!         MONDAY, April 4 Class Trip to the Maple Sugar Camp!  Keep in mind we will be travelling around outdoors for most of the morning so dress warmly.  Lunch will be on site so students need a full lunch incl. a drink.  Hat Day for Autism! Children are invited to wear a hat in exchange for a donation toward this worthy cause.    TUESDAY, April 5 Hot Lunch Day   WEDNESDAY, April 6   THURSDAY, April 7 Buddy Readers with Mrs. MacDonald's class   FRIDAY, April 8     Pizza Day- turn in your money if you wish to order - 1.50/slice; include your name and # of pieces please
            Be sure to go online at WWF-Canada and register you and your family and your participation in Earth Hour!  I did not realize the event was tonight or would have made a bigger deal of it at School!  Regrets... Pass the news on to family and friends so we can increase the amount of participants!!!   thank you  
                                                                                       We extend a heartfelt thank you to the Aliant Pioneers who recently donated a great number of books to our classroom libraries.  The books will be well used to boost the literary skills of our young readers.  Their donation is so much appreciated by students and staff at the school.  Thank you for your good will, it is much appreciated!

          MONDAY FEB. 28 Happy 100th Day of School Students have been counting the days and will celebrate in a variety of ways!   School wide food drive!  in conjunction with our  3D shapes lessons.  Non-perishable food donations will be accepted until Friday.  Ideas include Juice (cans or boxes, lunch bag items, sandwich meat, cereal bars, rice crisp squares etc. ,oatmeal, baby food, canned foods and desserts, condiments, spagetti/meat sauce. Check flyers for other ideas TUESDAY MARCH 1 Hot Lunch  pizza     WEDNESDAY MARCH 2 Skating Day    IMPORTANT MEETING TONIGHT!     THURSDAY MARCH 3     FRIDAY MARCH 4 (every )Friday is Pizza Day!  students can purchase for 1.50/slice                                                      ENJOY YOUR MARCH BREAK ONE AND ALL!

Jared Conroy (1st local, 2nd provincial), Madelyn Frost (2nd local)  and Zach Taylor (3rd local) were awarded prizes today from members of the local legion this morning for their entries in the Remembrance Day Poster contest.  Way to go!

        Dear Parents, Today is our 95th day of school!  The 100th day will be on Monday, February 28th.  Tomorrow is Mad Science, our dance-off and Hot Lunch day.  We will have hamburgers.  Wednesday is Pink T-shirt for Bullying day!  A space shuttle will lift off on Thursday, we can watch on the NASA web site!.  Friday is Pizza Day.  Love, Your Children.
