Welcome to week 6 of “Home Learning!”

Thanks so much parents for helping your children complete the tasks I’ve been providing. I will remind you once again, these tasks are not intended to cause extra stress in an already stressful time. Please, “do what you can, when you can!” Thanks as well to those that have been emailing some written work. I love to see them and it also allows me to give children some feedback as to what they could work on next. Have a great week everyone! My email address again is jodi.sobey@nbed.nb.ca if you have any questions or concerns!

Good Morning Children!

Today is Monday, May 11, 2020.

I hope you all had a fun weekend celebrating your moms.

My mom is coming to visit me this evening. I am excited.

I did not like the snowy day on Saturday. Did you?

It looks like today is going to be a sunny. Yay!

Have a marvelous day kiddos! Love, Mrs. Sobey

Dear Children,

Today is "thankful" Thursday. The date is May 7, 2020.

I am thankful for all of you and all your smiles. Who are you thankful for today?

Did you get to see the "Snowbirds" yesterday? It was pretty cool!

The craziest thing happened at my house in the night. Chase, Autumn and I woke to a loud noise.

There were 2 porcupines fighting under our trampoline.

Chase came to the rescue and scared them off so we could all get back to sleep.

Have a terrific day! Love, Mrs. Sobey

Then “count around the circle” by 5’s, try to get to 100. If that is too tricky you could continue to work on counting by 5’s to 50. (The expectation for the End of Grade 1 is that students would be able to skip count by 5’s to 100, starting at 0.)

Hello Parents,

You may have received an email from me tonight in regards to EPIC Books. I was investigating as to what that site was all about. It would give you access to a set of books for your child to use for independent reading. After looking at it, I prefer the Wilbooks site that I recommended previously. That being said if you like to check this site out as well, send me an email and I will re-send you the link to activate an account for your child. My email address again is, jodi.sobey@nbed.nb.ca

Have a good evening!

Good Morning Boys and Girls!

Today is Wednesday, May 6th.

It looks like it is going to be a wonderful day.

The sun is shining and this afternoon it is supposed to feel warm.

If you check the skies after 12:30 today, you might get to see the "Snowbirds" flying over our city. So exciting!

I think I am going to head to Napan to see them too!

Have a fun day! Love, Mrs. Sobey

Writing

Begin by having your child re-read their writing piece from Monday. Their completed pieces should have at least 3 sentences. If they have reached that goal, have them add another detail to extend their writing a bit further. When these are finished, I would love to see them. That way I can also give your child some feedback to help them set some goals to work on so that their writing will continue to show growth. Writing pieces can be emailed to me at jodi.sobey@nbed.nb.ca.
